Our slogan at the LGBTQ Resource Center is "Be Yourself Here." It is a space where students can be their authentic selves. When our staff asks, "How have you been?", you can tell the truth. Even when the answer is "not so good", we will listen, ask questions, and offer support.
We want to let you know that we are still here to do that. The only difference now is that we cannot sit down for a chat in our offices. Fortunately, we have created many digital spaces for you to reach out to us.
Virtual Office Hours
For those of you who need some individual attention, we have Virtual Offices Hours via Zoom. These times are dedicated open hours for students to ask questions, get support, or just chat.
Schedule: Zoom Link
- Monday: 4:00 – 5:00pm
- Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
If you are unavailable at these times, please email lschroeder@uh.edu to set up another time.
Online Discussion Groups
For those who would prefer to connect with peers, we have our Online Discussion Groups. Although, some of these specify an identity group, at this time of much social isolation, feel free to join in with any group at any time. For the safety of our participants, we ask that you email Dani Soltis, our Graduate Assistant at LGBTQGA@Central.uh.edu for access to the Discord group. Please see our calendar for exact dates.

If you are up for some fun and games, we have started Digital Socials. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages to stay up to date with our online events and activities!
Again, you have to reach out to us. I know it can be hard. The fear of rejection is all too real, but I promise, whether you are having a great day or are feeling down, we are here for you, and you can "Be Yourself Here."
