“The French Connection”
The Moores Piano Faculty invite you to an exciting journey through time and style in a program of French composers. The repertoire features “hidden treasures” by Chabrier, Chaminade and Tailleferre alongside all-time favorites such as Ravel’s “La Valse” and Dukas’ “Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” You will experience the intimacy of solo piano; the grandeur of 8 hands on two pianos; and all the sonorities in between.
Although Polish by birth, Chopin lived most of his adult life in Paris. He became a major influence on future generations of French composers. Since this concert falls on Chopin’s Birthday (February 22nd, 1810) - how could we resist including a few pieces by this iconic master?
We welcome you to join us in a unique exploration of the many connections among these works and their composers.
