Methods”
Omer Arbel is founder of the international transdisciplinary practice Omer Arbel Office and Co-founder of Bocci Design and Manufacturing.
Based between Vancouver and Berlin, Arbel cultivates a fluid position, between the fields of architecture, sculpture, invention and design. Focal themes of his work include the intrinsic mechanical, physical, and chemical qualities of materials and the exploration of light as a medium.
Arbel’s work is widely published and exhibited, and he lectures and teaches internationally. His work is in the permanent collections of the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Montréal, Canada, and The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, Chicago, USA.
Arbel is the recipient of World Architecture Festival: Future Projects Award, Wallpaper* Design Award, Good Design Award, AZ Award, Red Dot Award, Interior Design Magazine Best of Year Award, among many others.
Most recently Arbel’s work was exhibited in a solo show titled “Omer Arbel, Architectural Experiments in Material and Form” at the AEDES Architecture Forum, Berlin Germany, in the fall of 2020.
