Houston History magazine, the UH Center for Public History, the UH Center for Mexican American and Latino/a Studies (CMALS), and The Heritage Society invite you to the launch of Houston History’s latest issue!
This event will feature Latino cARTogrphies – a state-of-the-art digital board created by CMALS that will transport you into the art where you can experience the board’s interactive components, highlighting the intersection of art, community, and history.
A panel discussing the magazine and the significance of Latino cARTographies will feature:
- Pamela Anne Quiroz, Ph.D., Director of CMALS who first envisioned Latino cARTographies
- Laura Lopez Cano, artist, Mexican-American History & Culture in 20th Century Houston
- Jesse Sifuentes, artist, Mexican-American History & Culture in 20th Century Houston
- Mikaela Selley, Archivist & Public History Consultant
- Juana Guzmán, former Vice-President of the National Museum of Mexican Art
