University of Houston students who do not have a meal plan for the spring semester can go online to sign up for one.
The sign-up period kicked off Thursday, Dec. 1. UH Dining Services offers a meal plan for every type of student, with meal plans specifically designed for both residents and commuters. For example, the Block 100 plan offers 100 meals in the dining hall and $250 in Cougar Cash for retail locations, food trucks and convenience stores, and is designed for commuters who are here three or more days of the week.
Block plans save money by providing discounts in the two campus all-you-care-to-eat, buffet-style dining halls – Fresh Food Company and Cougar Woods – while also providing Cougar Cash, which can be used at locations like McDonald’s, Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks, to name a few of the campus retail locations. In addition, all-Cougar Cash plans are also available, which provide 10 percent discounts for meals at the dining halls.
