Biology Major
Students who major in biology must meet the general degree requirements in addition to the special requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
Students who major in biology may not double major, double degree, or minor in biochemical and biophysical sciences.

All students are responsible for the completion of 36 advanced semester hours required for a University of Houston degree.
Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Biology
The Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Biology is an
intersdisciplinary degree program jointly administered by the College of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Department of Biology and
Biochemistry, and the Department of Mathematics at the University of
Houston. In addition to general university and college requirements, the
degree calls for 26 hours of biology/biochemistry, 27 hours of
mathematics, 21 hours of chemistry and physics, and 6 hours of
interdisciplinary biology/mathematics courses. Detailed requirements of
the program are given in the Mathematical Biology Major section of this catalog.
