The Hobby School Hosts Leaders and Directors of the Volcker Alliance’s Next Generation’s Service Corps for Emerging Public Service Leaders

The Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston and Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University hosted The Volcker Alliance’s Next Generation Service Corps leaders and program directors on April 8-11, 2024. Representatives from the 21 member universities landed in Houston on Solar Eclipse Day for a three-day retreat to share best practices, build collaborative relationships and lay the groundwork for future planning.

NextGen Service Corps is a network of programs at universities across the country that inspire and prepare students to serve their communities and nation through a comprehensive leadership development program that incorporates curriculum, experiential learning, student-led projects, mentorship and hands-on training. Hobby School’s Emily Janowski leads the Next Generation Leadership Program at the University of Houston.
