NextGen Service Corps Leaders Gather in Houston for Strategic Planning

The Hobby School of Public Affairs and Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs hosted The Volcker Alliance’s Next Generation Service Corps leaders and program directors from across the country on April 8-11, 2024. Representatives from the 21 member universities shared best practices, built collaborative relationships and laid the groundwork for the future at the three-day retreat.

2024 Leland Fellows Experience Capitol Hill

The dozen University of Houston undergraduates and post-baccalaureates serve as full-time staffers in governmental offices, researching legislation, attending hearings and briefings and interacting with constituents on various issues. This year, Leland Fellows will experience federal government in the nation's capital during the 2024 election season while building the valuable skills, knowledge and networks vital for emerging leaders seeking to make a difference through public service.
