What a ISDN line lets the user accomplish is communications over phone lines in digital form. The benefits of ISDN are: fast dial up, speeds that are 4 times as fast as V.34 modems, the ability to load and download large files quickly and easily, use simultaneous voice, fax, video, data transmittion and multilink PPP connections. When two data transmition lines are incorporated into the system, data transmition speeds are at 128 Kbps! One of the problems with ISDN is the lack of standards for the hardware and compression. Another problem is data transmission, speeds can very from 56 Kbps to 128 Kbps.
