Arlington National Cemetery
Here I am with my mother, aunt, and grandmother. We are about
begin our first visit. The sign says, "Please conduct yourselves with
dignity and respect at all times." Why?

Here are just a few of the many graves. Not all of the graves have the
plain white markers. Some of the older graves have very elaborate
markers. Can you name some of the people buried here?

President John F. Kennedy is one of the
most famous people buried here. Do you
think this picture was taken on the same
day as the one at the top of the page? Why?

Here is a photo of President Kennedy. Do you know
when he held office?

This was taken on the day of his funeral. Do you know what building that is?

His marker is the one in the middle. I couldn't get a photo from
directly in front of it because of  the large number of people at his grave.
This picture was taken the day his son, John F. Kennedy, Jr.,
disappeared. To whom do you think the other markers belong?

This is the Eternal Flame. It has been burning since the funeral of
President Kennedy in 1963. Do you know how he died?
