Overview of IE Plans
Institutional Effectiveness (IE) plans reflect the desired student learning outcomes for each academic program, and the annual IE planning process provides an opportunity to document that data that have been collected, the findings from the data analysis, and any curricular changes or program decisions made in response to findings.

Faculty should contact their department chair or college assessment specialist to obtain the latest copy of their academic unit’s IE Plan.  Each college’s IE plans are stored at http://irie.uh.edu and are accessible with a college-specific password.

Relationship between QEP Proposals and IE Plans
Beginning in Fall 2008, undergraduate programs have been asked to incorporate a student learning goal in IE plans that is research-specific for the discipline.  Faculty developing QEP proposals should review their academic units’ IE plan to ensure that the proposed enhancement is aligned with any research-related student learning outcomes.
