Letting You Know
Sitting on a concrete step,
On an unseasonably warm day, conversing.
Telling you stories, laughing with you.
Showing you my world.
Opening my heart and letting you see
the How and Why of me.
Letting you see the things I see,
And know the things I know.
My world.
Hoping that you can embrace the things I embrace,
Through all the right and all the wrong
That is present here.
Just talking with you, on a warm day,
On a concrete step
In the city inside of the city.
When You Laugh
When you laugh,
It reminds me of coins,
Spilling onto a tabletop of glass,
Distinct and clear,
Resounding with the tones of richness
And plenty.
When you laugh
My heart dances
And reels to the melody of life I see in you.
A dance, fierce in its embrace, yet tender
In its motion.
So, when you laugh,
I know that I am lost.
For I am the tool and the fool
That brings such pleasure
To the one I hold so dear.
When I Think Of You
With but a whisper of your name,
My face cascades in smiles,
Or a foolish grin.
With but a touch from you,
I am as close to unconsciousness
As I have ever been,
Yet still pleasingly aware
Of the all-encompassing
Presence of you.
Whether it is physical desire
Or soulful yearning,
I do not know.
Each seems so intertwined
Until I can't tell which is calling,
Or which your love
Will satisfy.
Cycle
A raindrop falls
And gently kisses a blade of grass.
The coolness of the water
Splashes softly, trickling down,
Substaining the plant as it grows.
Why does this droplet makes this journey
So far from its existence in the clouds?
It is a journey of life.
It is a journey of love.
It is a journey of purpose.
Just as the rain falls to earth,
And in its fall, makes everything it touches new,
You, my raindrop, nourish me.
