This is a picture of Tobago, a sister island to Trinidad but governed by the same parliment. Trinidad and Tobago was a British colony for many years and gained its independence in 1962. As a result English is our first (and only) language, and we follow the English system of government as well as schooling. We also drive on the left side of the road. Trinidad and Tobago, also known as T&T is a diverse nation consisting of many races that landed there due to the sugar trade of the early 20th century.
