Directions for using Mathematica on the Social Sciences NT Server

These directions apply only to the PCs in the Social Work computer lab. Mathematica is installed on each MAC in this Lab.

1. Log into the PC using your NT userID and password.
2. Click on the Network Neighborhood icon. A window should pop up.
3. Find and click on "Entire Network".
4. In the next window, scan through the set of machine icons, click on "Social_Sciences".
5. Scan through the set of machines icons here, click on "econserv1".
6. You are almost there, from the new window, click on the "Mathematica" folder.
7. From this folder, click on the folder "3.0".
8. Finally click on the "Shortcut to Mathematica" icon.

For those who are a bit savy, copy (do not drag) the "Shortcut to Mathematica" icon and paste it to the desktop.  The next time you log into the server, the icon will be on the desktop and you can skip steps 1 through 8.
