Research Assistant (June 1997 --
Present)
University of Houston
Department of Biology and
Biochemistry
Dr. Susan Hardin's
Lab
- Coding and developing a computer program for Octamer Sequencing
Technology. Octamer Sequencing Technology, OST, is a method of DNA
sequencing using single octamer oligonucleotides to primer cycle
sequencing reactions. Octamer oligonucleotide primers are predicted
automatically, using quality information associated with each base call.
The secondary structure of template DNA is also considered to select the
primer for next primer walking. The code is written in ANSI C and run in
UNIX system.
- Using ABI 377 to sequence a particular gene with Big Dye. Familiar
with the sequencing procedure and sequence analyzing software such as
Sequencher, BLAST, OLIGO, GCG.
Teaching Assistant (September 1996 -- June
1997)
University of Housotn, Department of Biology &
Biochemistry
-
Gained excellent communication skills and the ability to teach and solve
problems.

production,sales,distribution, accounting
and financial system.
- Designed, tested and maintained the MS Access database.
- Acted as a liaison between Chinese and American Employees.
