• Barometers are used to measure atmospheric pressure.

• At sea level , mercury flows  downward until the top of the  mercury column in the tube is  about 760 mm above the surface  of the mercury in the dish.

• At sea level and 0ƒC, normal  atmospheric pressure is 760  mmHg or 760 Torr.
