• Atoms are electrically neutral,  spherical entities composed of a  positively charged central nucleus  surrounded by one or more  negatively charged electrons.

• The nucleus is incredibly dense.

• Electrons move rapidly through  the atom, held there by the  electrical attraction of the  nucleus.
