• For molecules within a given electron-group arrangement, electron  repulsions cause deviations from ideal bond angles in the order:

Lone pair-lone pair > lone pair-bonding pair > bonding pair-bonding pair

1. Write the Lewis structure showing the atom sequence and the  number of electron groups around the central atom.

2. Assign an electron goup arrangement based on the number of  bonding groups and nonbonding groups (AXnEm).
