Good day!

Parking permit priority renewal for the 2022-2023 academic year is scheduled to open March 23 and continue through 5 p.m. April 8.

What is priority renewal?

Priority renewal is for students who currently have an annual parking permit and want to keep the same annual permit type for the coming year.

Who is priority renewal not for?

Priority renewal is NOT for:

  • Students who want a different permit
  • Students who currently have a semester permit
  • Students who currently have no parking permit

If you fall into any of these categories, you must wait for regular student permit registration, which is scheduled to open April 18.

What's new for next year?

This fall, we are transitioning to virtual permits, so you will not receive a hangtag to place on your rearview mirror. There are also several new permit types being offered to students, including Tues/Thurs and Mon/Wed/Fri garage permits, a garage hopper permit that allows you to park in multiple garages, and semester zone permits. There also will be two new zones: Zone G (School of Medicine) and Zone H (UH Technology Bridge).

Proposed 2022/2023 student annual permit rates

  • Zone: $455
  • Garage: $770
  • Garage Hopper: $870
  • Evening-Weekend: $150
  • Tues/Thurs: $325
  • Mon/Wed/Fri: $425
  • UH at Sugar Land: $305
  • UH at Katy: $105
  • Motorcycle: $95

Instructions on how to renew an annual permit will be emailed prior to March 23.
