[f.51] Sir bicause I heare it somwhat bruted, that great suyte is made dailie to the Quenes Majestie aswell for the removing of some of her highnes best officers owt of the custome howse of this porte. as also for the placinge of some others there, that seke it only for rewarde and relief of their owne necessities / whiche respectes her Majestie had nede to be well ware of in the furnishing of that place. I therfore having had some experience of the difference of mens service there, thought it my dewtie to putt your Mastershipp in remembraunce therof to thende that by your meanes her highness may have the better consideracion of such suytes, especiallie sence it so nearelie touchethe the advancement and decay of her revenue, inthe ordering and bringing in wherof in that place, fewe of theym that sewe fastest therfore, are mete to be made officers, as when your leysure shall serve yow and your plesure shalbe to commaunde this bearer and me to wayte on you, we shall at more lengthe and more particulerlie make open unto you, in suche sorte as I trust you shall thinke your tyme not lost in geving us eare therin / And so I commytte you to god / From the white friers the vjth of December 1558
