Serjeant-at-law David Williams 13 Feb last past, the last day of the Hillary Term, going from Serjeants Inn in Fleet street to Westminster about eight o’clock in the morning passing between Durham House and York house was hit three times between the shoulder blades by Watkyn David with an engine of iron foursquare set in a haft of wood. Ans: deft comming from the court at Whitehall to his chamber on Fleet Lanr did between Charing Cross and York house buy an ‘awlle’ for a penny. Williams called him Rogue, Beggarly Rogue.

Light and other gentlemen of Lincoln’s Inn and New Inn upon a complaint to the lords of the counsel in the Inner Chamber after dinner, for divers riots and abuses committed by them in London upon sundry His Majesty’s officers were by order of this court expulsed their several houses where they were admitted and were bound to their good behaviours and ordered not to be admitted any more of Inns of Court or Chancery hereafter.
