*STAC 5/R1/5 - Depositions taken at Thornebury the 16 Jan 40 Eliz (for Rokewoode?) from William Dutton of Thornebury Co Glouc Weaver aged 30, Henry Curnock of Barkley co Glouc. tanner aged 30, Thomas Bailey of Barkley weaver aged 54, Reginald Palmer of Oulston co Glouc. husbandman aged 44, Richard Pooler of Thornebury yeoman aged 41, Richard Thorneton of Thornebury gent aged 60, Thomas Hoskins of Ouldbury, husbandman aged 41 years. William Howell of Ouldbury aged 60 he did see the said Rokewoode and Gould in the town of Thornebury the 15th day of Jan 1596 behaving themselves honestly and quietly. They stood in the door of William Barton then mayor of Thornebury and were set on by Henry Parmyter coming from Henry Harris house accompanied with Richard Wycksteed John Bridge Thomas Wydnoll Edward [ ] with five or six others. Rokewoode and Gould fled into he mayors house. Margaret Thorneton wife of Richard Thorneton aged 60, Phillipp Withers of Littelton upon Severn co Glouc. yeoman aged 47, John Vickes of Owlston bowcher aged 41, Jeffery London of Handly co Worc, yeoman aged 60, Rychard Hyckman of Tockington co Gouc. yeoman 35, Rychard Horne of Barkley weaver 41, Edward Hyll of Stonewitch yeoman 41, Symon Burnell of Tockinton, husbandman 51.
