  • Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 44v. Damages. Commission to examine the damage of the plaintiff sustained by a riot done. Long, widow, plaintiff; Wrastley et al: a commission ordered by the court upon a motion after the cause sentenced and costs taxed for proof of the hindrance and loss that the plaintiff had sustained by means of the riot and by reason the defendant had continued the possession of the land from the plaintiff and for damages in his corn, cattle and other goods. Long, widow, plaintiff; Large et al: for perjury and other offences upon a motion to the court that the plaintiff was put out of possession before the bill exhibited and was contrary to the council’s letters kept from her possession by the defendant who withstood the sheriff and the justice that had put the plaintiff in possession an injunction was awarded to the sheriff to take posse comitatus to restore the plaintiff to her possession and a Serjeant at arms to apprehend such as stood out upon commission of rebellion, and the lieftenant of the shire to apprehend.
