Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 26r.

Bailiff of a liberty seizing outlaws’ goods complained of here for a riot, dismissed. Winterborne, plaintiff; Hutchinson et al: the bailiffs of the city of Lincoln complained of for riot who in their answers set forth that they did enter the plaintiff’s shop, and there took inventory of his wares and then removed them to another place for that the plaintiff was outlawed which the court allowed of and so dismissed the defendant, yet for that it appeared by the confession of one of the secondaries of the Counter that he razed the writ in the word quarto exactus and put instead thereof reddit se therefore the court ordered the plaintiff’s goods to be restored unto him and committed the clerk to the Fleet that razed the same, from the bar.
