  • TNA SP 12/105, 35. 1575 September 2. John Lord Russell to Lord Burghley. Amendment in the health of his wife Lady Russell; he hopes she will go her full time and have safe delivery.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 36. 1575 September 4. Earl of Leycester to the Queen. Thanks her for her great affection showed towards her absent õ õ by the testimony of her own sweet hand. Will hasten to her blessed presence. [Leicester in his letters to the Queen used the symbol õ õ as expressive of affection, in the same manner as Hatton used the word "Lids" or "Lyddes."]
  • TNA SP 12/105, 37. 1575 September 5. Robert Petre to Burghley. Mr. Marten will in two or three days furnish 3,000l. in angels. Mr. Aldersey and Mr. Osborne have not yet returned to London. Recommends Mr. Smyth, the customer, to forward the money to Antwerp.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 38. 1575 September 6? Leycester to the Queen. His affection. Hopes speedily to return to her, "our heaven on earth." Beauty of the country, where he is, in his survey, to prepare for her coming. The very seasons are subservient to her and pray for her presence. [Queen Elizabeth was at Woodstock on the 11th of September 1575.]
  • TNA SP 12/105, 39. 1575 September 12. Sir Tho. Cecill to Burghley. Recommends the suit of Sir Henry Darcy for an exchange of his Manor of Sawley, in Yorkshire, for one of equal value in the County of Huntingdon.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 40. 1575 September 12. Walsyngham to Lord Burghley. The Queen desires him to send the money to Antwerp with as much secrecy as possible. The French Ambassador has had an interview with the Queen, and has obtained permission for his nephew to visit the Queen of Scots, and to deal with the Earl of Shrewsbury touching the Queen's diets.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 41. 1575 September 15. Benjamin Gonson to Lord Burghley. Safe arrival of the Earl of Pembroke and his Lady at Queenborough, in the "Achates;" the said ship is to be made ready to carry over the Ambassador of the Low Countries.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 42. 1575 September 23. George Gilpin to Burghley. Informs him of the arrival of Lady Morley, with her daughter and youngest son, at Antwerp.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 43. 1575 September 28. Lord Adm. Lincoln to Lord Burghley. Respecting the detention of certain Frenchmen who had been imprisoned on the charge of piracy. Their case shall be examined into.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 44. 1575 September 29. Note of induct and educt (imports and exports) in the port of London by the Merchants Strangers, from Michaelmas 1574 to the same feast 1575.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 45. 1575 September 30. Lord Burghley to Mr. Sec. Walsyngham. Recommends the suit of the bearer. The money has passed Bruges in safety towards Antwerp. Has spoken with the French Ambassador for the restitution of two English ships plundered by Frenchmen. Interview with the Portuguese Ambassador at Spinola's house, in his garden at Shoreditch. Particulars of their conference. Fearful fiery meteor on Michaelmas eve.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 46. 1575 September? Memorandum, for an adventure into France for provision of wines for the Royal Household. Articles to be settled with the farmer of the impost on wines.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 47. 1575 September? Note of abuses committed by the importers of wines by reason of the prices being restrained to 10l. the ton; with remedies for redress of the same.
  • TNA SP 12/105, 48. 1575. Reasons to prove that prisoners committed from the Council Board should be sent to the Marshalsea, and not to the Fleet or other prisons.
