WAALT: the Wiki for the Anglo-American Legal Tradition Website WAALT is a project of the Anglo-American Legal Tradition (AALT) website (http://aalt.law.uh.edu) of the University of Houston.
WAALT is a wiki site that shares research findings on a wide range of substantive themes. Researchers may post relevant links to documents organized to facilitate posting and finding. The contents of the document may then be summarized and/or translated and commented upon. The WAALT goals are
  • furthering the history of England and Wales
  • enabling the exploitation of TNA documents available on the AALT (and, tangentially, elsewhere)
  • expanding the research community by providing a research purpose short of full-fledged publication
  • lowering the cost of research by expanding online research capability
  • providing a collaborative model of research

WAALT for Cities and Towns

The WAALT for Cities and Towns is ready. Volunteers who are involved actively in building the site generally will be listed here as directors. Directors are affirmatively needed.

Other WAALTS

Other WAALTS will be forthcoming. The next will be for law. If Developers come forward for other topics (medieval church; early modern church; family; commerce; etc) and are willing to construct--with help--the grids, these other sectors will come online much faster.
