[f.1] Maie at please your honour to be advertised that wheare one John Flower esquire now sherive of the countie of Rutlande hath a pr[ivie] Seale for the lone of lli to the Queenes Majestie I beinge appoin[ted] receaver therof have sente to him Divers times for the [same] who not onelye by him selfe but also by his servauntes [hath] declared his unabilitie for the performaunce of the [same] for that his living is under the value of xllo by [the] yeare And within this iij or iiij yeares hath lost [ . . . ] suerties shippe five hundreth poundes and about iij [ . . . ] same was charged with thoffice of the sheave [ . . . ] he is even now at this presente which is a verie [great] charge unto him beinge a yonge manne and h[avinge a] wyffe and a greate charge of children and besid[es he] is indebted above CCli wherfore yf it should [please] your honor to shew him such favour as to your [honour] shall seeme beste wherbie he might be discharg[ed] therof hee should not onlie have good cause to [? pray] for your honour but also to be readye at all time[s] to doe you such pleasure and service as as shall lie in his power so longe as he liveth.
