AFTER my moste hartie Comendacions unto youe. Pleasithe the same to be adverticed, that the 10th of this present Moonthe, I receyved a Letter withe Credet frome my Brother the Bushope of Catnes, by a Scoteshe Mane, and a Frynde of myne, called the Larde of Gaston, who beinge desierouse to retorne towardes my Brother agayne, ys repayred home; wiche Letter and Credet I have thought good not onely to sende unto you herin closed, to participate the same unto the Quene's Majestie accordinge to my bounden Dewtie, but also desiers her Highnes moste humblie to be my good and graciouse Ladie, as her Progenitors hathe bene to me hertofore; and that my Wyfe and I may have her Majestie's Licence in Maner and Forme, as this other ys, wiche this Bearer our Servante shall shewe unto youe. And lyke as I wrote unto youe hertofore, that, wiche her Majestie dothe for us for the Recovery of our livinge in Scotland, I truste, God willinge, shall redownde to her Grac's owne Comoditie, and shalbe more able to doo her Heighnes better sarvice ther, than heare; yea, and though I say yt, better sarvice than any in Scotland ys able to doo her Grace. And thus desieringe most hartely youre Frendshipe and Fortherance in this my humble Sute, for that I doo intende to sende a Sarvante of myne towards the said Regent, as shortlie as may be, after I have had the Quene's Majestie's Licence, I byd youe most hartely farewell.
