Testing Services

UH Testing Services is committed to your success. 

During the Fall 2021 term, our office will serve students both in-person and remotely.

 The TSI Assessment will be administered remotely until further notice. Students interested in taking the TSI should:

Departmental credit and placement exams

  • These exams will be administered in person. Please visit the Tests Offered page.
    • Chinese placement/departmental test
    • Math and Physics Departmental test credits 
    •  
  • These exams will be administered remotely. Please visit Tests Offered page.
    • Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, and Vietnamese Placement/and or credit tests are available for remote proctoring. Select the remote proctoring option on the Tests Offered page.
    • French and German placement tests
    • Spanish Placement/Credit exam
  • Other departmental credit and placement exams will be scheduled by appointment. Please email ets@uh.edu with your test request. 
  • Students with questions about testing impacts on a degree or graduation plans should contact their academic advisors.

Other exam questions

  • Questions about test credits (e.g., AP, IB, CLEP) after consultation with academic advisors may be sent by email to pdaniel@uh.edu

  • Students interested in CLEP assessments should first consult with their academic advisor regarding applicability to degree program and then email pdaniel@uh.edu for testing options. Please visit Tests Offered page.

  • Students interested in DDST (DANTES) assessments should first consult with their academic advisor regarding applicability to degree program and then email pdaniel@uh.edu for testing options. DSST Test is administered in person. Please visit

  • National Standardized Exams (e.g., ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT). For remote proctoring options, see the Tests Offered page to visit the respective testing agency website. Students scheduled for standardized tests will receive messaging about cancellations or alternate testing procedures directly from the testing agency.
