The University of Houston provides access to two Horizon Wimba products:
- Live Classroom - an online virtual classroom space
- Voice Tools - allows instructors and students to embed voice elements in course components.
Setting Up Wimba
In order to use Wimba, you will need to configure your computer and install the necessary plug-ins. The steps below will guide you through the process.
1.) Verify that you meet the minimum computer requirements
In order to use Wimba online, your PC or Macintosh must meet these minimum computer system requirements.
2.) Run the Wimba setup wizard
Wimba has provided a wizard to help you determine what settings you may need to adjust to participate in a session. You can run the wizard by going to http://208.185.78.156/wizard/launcher.cgi?wc=wms.
