Getting Started
How to start preparing for podcasts in your course
Step 1: Plan
Contact Your Instructional Design Support Team
If you are interested in using podcasting in your course, one of your best resources will be your Instructional Design Support Team. Your team can help you with the planning and implementation of your podcasts and has access to resources across the campus that may assist you in the development and delivery of your podcasts. Some of the things you should be ready to discuss are:
- Needs Assessment: Where do you want to use podcasts in your courses? How do you think podcasts will enhance your current content?
- Content: What kind of content do you want to deliver? Is this content mandatory or supplemental?
- Equipment: What kinds of equipment do you have accessible? What additional hardware or sofware do you require?
- Assistance: What parts of the development process are you comfortable handling on your own? What types of assistance would you like from the podcasting team?
The following is a list of the Instructional Design Support Team members available on the UH campus. Please contact the team for your college or department:

Start making your content. If you require help with this step, your Support Team can assist you with this.
Step 3: Publish
Deliver your completed content to your web administrators to upload to your servers. If you require help with converting your content to the proper format, your admins will help you with that at this time. Once your files are ready, you will be emailed the links to your files for you to add to your RSS feed for your podcast.
