Submitting Your Podcast to iTunes
When you have finished creating your podcast channel, you can submit your URL to the iTunes Music Store so that users can use iTunes to search for and subscribe to your podcast.
First, verify that iTunes can properly see and retrieve the episodes of your podcast. Copy the web address (URL) for your podcast feed from your website. Then in iTunes, from the top menus select Advanced -> Subscribe to Podcast. You will get a dialogue box where you can enter the URL to your podcast. Ensure that the podcast channel is added successfully and that you can download all the episodes that are currently available. If you have problems, go back and fix them now. If you do not encounter any problems, you are ready to submit to iTunes.
In order to submit a podcast to iTunes, you will need to sign up for an iTunes account. You will not need to enter any credit card information, but you will need to provide contact information as the submitter of the podcast.
Launch iTunes and go to the Music Store. From the Music Store navigation on the left, click on the Podcasts option. This will put you on the Podcasts directory page.
Click on the Submit a Podcast link in the left navigation. You will get the submission page. Enter the URL for RSS feed for your podcast in the box provided. This should be the same URL that you tested and verified earlier. If iTunes is successfully able to read your RSS file, you will get a page outlining the information for your podcast. Confirm the information then finalize your submission.
Once you complete the submission, you will get an email from Apple confirming that it was received and is under review. The review will take a few days, as they look for evidence of coypright infringement, technical problems or explicit content which has not been properly identified.
Once your podcast has been finally cleared and added, you will get another email with a link you can use on your website for sending users directly to your podcast's subscription page in iTunes.
