According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job creation in the energy sector has grown significantly faster than overall private sector employment in the past six years, with employment growth in the extraction and support segments of the oil and gas industry reporting growth over 35 percent. Careers in clean energy or renewable industries (wind, solar, biofuels) are also expected to expand in upcoming years, and graduates with master’s degrees in global energy management are going to be in high demand. Many of the jobs will fall under the finance bracket. The job outlook for financial analysts is extremely positive, with an average pay of $76,950 per year and an expected growth of 16% percent between 2012 and 2022.
