Jamie Gonzales

Liaison to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS)

Jamie Gonzales (she/her) serves as a liaison to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, a pre-law advisor, and an instructor for Liberal Arts Career Planning (LACP2111). She strives to build students' confidence by providing supportive coaching as students decide their major, search for internship/job opportunities, prepare for interviews, etc.

As a first-generation college graduate, Jamie proudly earned her Master's degree (M.Ed) in Higher Education from University of Houston and her Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in American Sign Language from the University of Texas at Austin.

Prior to her time at UCS, she was a team member with the UH LGBTQ Resource Center (2016-2020) and UH Center for Diversity and Inclusion (2014-2016). Jamie also teaches Intro to LGBTQ Studies in the UH Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies department, advises Gamma Rho Lambda Sorority's Kappa Chapter, and serves as a judge for the Scarlet Seals of Excellence.

Outside of campus, Jamie values serving her local community in various capacities such as being a Co-Director for New Leaders Council-Houston and a board member for the Mayor's LGBTQ Advisory Board.
