The Scout Pro Balance provides a quick start out of the box with two button keypad and enhanced user interface. The menu system is easy to use as there are no cryptic code numbers to input and you can change weighing units with the touch of a button.

Applications include: Specific gravity calculation automatic in weighing mode; enhanced parts counting with average piece weight recalculation; percent weighing for comparing sample weights to a reference weight; display hold for weighing large samples (only the Pro offers this feature in a portable balance!); and more.

Included is a free density/specific gravity kit in all balances up to 4000g. This allows placement of sample and solution on top of the balance – no need to suspend sample below balance. Weighing modes include grams, kilograms, Newtons, ounces and pounds.

The Pro can be operated using either an AC adapter or 4 “AA” batteries. An AC adapter is included with each balance. In battery power mode, you can select the power saving auto-off feature to conserve batteries.

The Pro also offers flexibility in connectivity with the choice of easy to install USB or RS232 interfaces. Balance can be upgraded anytime after purchase.

To make sure Scout Pro Balances can survive the rigors of the high school classroom they have been built tough with numerous “student-proof” features including a sealed front panel and molded spill ring to protect the balance during use; an integral security bracket to guard against theft; a physical lockswitch to allow the balance to be locked into a specific combination thus reducing tampering, and more. This makes them doubly as durable for home use.

Fast Cool function pre-cools chamber in as little as 15 minutes. Temperature range from -9C to 40C. Standby refrigeration keeps rotor chamber at set temperature while lid is closed. It is three centrifuges in one: a high capacity general-purpose centrifuge for cell harvesting; a high-speed centrifuge for separating cell lysates; and a micro centrifuge for DNA precipitations.

Eppendorf 5702 Centrifuge is quiet and compact, and provide exceptional value for low-speed centrifugation of tube volumes from 1.1 ml to 85 ml. With its space-saving footprint and innovative design, the 5702 series can accommodate a remarkable 30 x 15 ml round-bottom tubes or 20 x 15 ml conical tubes. Fixed-angle or Swing-bucket Rotors provide flexibility for low-speed centrifugation of sensitive cells and blood. The A-4-38 Swing-bucket Rotor can spin up to 4 x 85 ml tubes in aerosol-tight buckets at g-forces up to 3,000xg.

A variety of adapters accept all common standard, conical, and blood collection tubes. For applications requiring higher tube capacity, rectangular buckets for up to 24 x 15 ml glass tubes can be used. Two versions of the F-35-30-17 Fixed-angle Rotor are available for a capacity of up to 30 x 15 ml. A simple, 8-place Swing-bucket Rotor is also available for 15 ml conical tubes.

State-of-the-art, yet simple, these centrifuges are easy to operate. The motorized “soft-touch” lid makes loading and closing effortless. Time and Speed knobs allow you to set and adjust parameters quickly and easily. Speed can be set in rpm or RCF (g-force), eliminating the need for tedious calculations, and all settings can be changed during a run.

You can also lock your settings to protect them against unintentional adjustment. Once the parameters are set, simply press the Time knob to start your preprogrammed run. When complete, an audible signal alerts you to remove your sensitive samples. The electronic brake can be deactivated in order to improve yields when spinning sensitive blood and urine samples.

Incubator Oven is dependable and economical.Efficient heating is supplied by economical, low-watt density strip heaters. Galvanized, cold-rolled steel chamber is insulated with 5.1cm (2″) of industrial fiberglass to minimize heat loss and hold temperature within the chamber uniform to +/- 0.5C @ 37C.Incubator door is tightly sealed by a 1.3cm (1/2″) silicone gasket. Glossy white interior for easy contamination detection. Temperature range is 5° above ambient to 70°C. Temperature is regulated by a hydraulic temperature controller, except in the Model 1500EM incubator, which features a digital controller.

This Model incubator features an easy-to-read LED display and a digital setpoint function for temperature selection. Temperature display may easily be calibrated to match a secondary thermometer.

The Ultrasonic power supply(generator) converts 50/60 Hz voltage to high frequency electrical energy. this alternating voltage is applied to disc-shaped ceramic piezoelectric crystals within the converter, causing them to expand and contract with each change of polarity. These longitudinal vibrations are amplified by the probe(horn) and transmitted into the liquid as ultrasonic waves consisting of alternate expansions and compressions.

The pressure fluctuations give birth to microscopic bubbles( cavities), which expand during the negative pressure excursions, and implode violently during the positive excursions. As the bubbles collapse ,millions of shock waves, eddies and extremes in pressures and temperatures are generated at the implosion sites. Although this phenomenon , known as cavitation, lasts but a few microseconds, and the amount of energy released by each individual bubble is minimal , the cumulative amount of energy generated is extremely high.

Compared to mechanical homogenizers , ultrasonic processing is fast and highly reproducible. Probes are practically self-cleaning, and by virtue of their design and finish, account for negligible sample losses. When used with environmentally safe aqueous cleaning solutions, the vibra-cell becomes a powerful cleaning tool, capable of removing the most tenacious contaminants from normally inaccessible locations. Unlike ultrasonic baths, which dissipate the vibrational energy over a large area, the vibra-cell probe focusses the energy to create a concentrated, high intensity cleaning zone.

Millipore has developed a range of Milli-Q ultrapure water systems designed to match specific water quality requirements. Each of the five new Milli-Q systems is designed to specifically target contaminants detrimental to particular applications such as HPLC, molecular biology and ICP-MS. The systems incorporate a high precision resistivity monitor that records conductivity or resistivity (compensated or not to 25 °C), and also feature a built-in TOC monitor with a 1-999 ppb detection range for accurate analysis of organics. Milli-Q systems meet USP 24 requirements for resistivity and TOC suitability tests. Validation and qualification services are available, and the optional Explore Data software allows easy access to historical data via a computer interface for documenting GLP compliance. All systems can be bench-operated, wall-mounted or bench-integrated for maximizing space requirements.

All systems in the Milli-Q range employ a 3-step purification process:

  • Step 1: Plug-in Q-Gard purification packs are tailored to the feedwater source to optimize the performance of downstream purification media to ensure consistent results.
  • Step 2: Quantum application-specific cartridges remove ionic and organic contaminants down to trace levels.
  • Step 3: Final purification of ultrapure water is carried out at the point-of-use by a pharmaceutical-grade, absolute 0.22um Millipak membrane filter that is recommended for most analytical applications.

Multi-purpose units are ideal for incubation and activation of cultures, enzyme reactions, blood urea nitrogen determinations, immunoassays, melting/boiling points, and a variey of other laboratory procedures. These high wattage, constant-temperature block heaters are economical and versatile. Each unit requires minimum bench space and features convenient front-mounted temperature adjustment knobs providing high and low temperature control.

Each model accepts separate interchangeable modular blocks, which accommodate various sample enclosures such as vials, microplates, PCR strips, and a wide variety of tubes. Each block contains a thermometer well, and features close tube-and-block contact for maximum heat retention. All units offer two separate temperature adjustment knobs providing reproducible low temperature and high temperature control.
