Resources and Reporting

The University of Houston is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), which provides administrators, faculty, staff, and students, as well as the businesses that serve them, with thought leadership and essential knowledge resources; opportunities for professional development; and a unique framework for demonstrating the value and competitive edge created by sustainability initiatives in higher education. Anyone with a valid email address can create an AASHE member account to access resources and receive member pricing on workshops, conferences and more. 

UH utilizes the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) administered by AASHE to measure campus sustainability performance. In 2015, the University of Houston became the first Texas insititution of higher education to receive a STARS rating of Gold. UH recertified in 2019 at the Gold rating and the latest report can be found here.

The University also submits sustainability data to the Princeton Review and has been included on the Princeton Review Guide to Green Schools since 2010.
