Cerebras Systems in HPC
Thursday, October 27, 2022

About the Event
The Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine (WSE) provides a unique architecture as 850,000 cores are tied together with a high-bandwidth and low latency network on a single wafer that allows for incredible speed-up of some typical HPC algorithms. In this talk, the Cerebras team will showcase the CS-2 system, the types of algorithms that do well with this architecture, and the Cerebras Software Development Kit (SDK) that is used to program applications for the wafer.
Attendees can submit a request for access to the Cerebras SDK and will be able to run jobs using the Cerebras Simulator. If approved, access to the SDK will allow developers to begin exploring the architecture, learning the Cerebras Software Language (CSL), and porting applications.
About the Speaker
Adam W. Lavely, Ph.D., leads the HPC Solutions Engineering team at Cerebras that helps partners port and optimizes HPC applications for the Cerebras wafer. Lavely has spent time studying the aerodynamics of supersonic jet engines, the effect of atmospheric turbulence on wind turbine aerodynamic loadings, and Titan’s atmospheric dynamics for the Dragonfly rotorcraft design.
