Online: Applications of AI/ML with Geophysical Data
Wednesday, June 10, 2020
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
About the Event
We provide an overview of new tools applying AI and machine learning methods for automating interpretation of geophysical data, including examples from seismic, well-logs and core. Software examples will be published for classifying textures in seismic data, with application to open data sets.
Bio
Ben Lassock holds a Ph.D. and a B.Sc. in theoretical physics. Before coming to geoscience, Ben worked as a portfolio manager at a large hedge fund in Australia. He has publications in the areas of high energy physics, Bayesian time series analysis and geophysics. Currently, Ben is working on developing ideas for physics-based A.I.
