New Degree Proposals
The possible and actual establishment of new undergraduate and graduate degree program offerings.
Change in Title to an Existing Degree
The possible change to existing undergraduate and graduate degree program offerings.
Dual Degree Proposals
To allow academically outstanding students to pursue two separate degree programs through a structured process.
Creation of a New Academic College/School
The possible creation of a new department, dissolution of departments, name changes of departments, consolidations of departments and movement of a program into another department as well as merge existing College of Science and College of Liberal Arts into a new College of Arts and Sciences, etc.
Create or Change a Program
The possible and actual establishment of program name changes, program dissolution and consolidation of programs.
Proposal to Increase or Reduce Semester Credit Hours (SCH)
Program changes that result in an increase or reduction of SCH degree requirements.
Proposal to Establish a New Certificate Offering
The possible and actual establishment of new upper and lower division or graduate certificate programs.
SACSCOC Notification, Approval, and Assessment
The University of Houston is required to notify the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) of any changes in accordance with substantive change policy, and when required, seek approval prior to initiation of the changes.
