Online Learning Consortium

Dear University of Houston Faculty,

I invite you to take advantage of the University's institutional membership with the Online Learning Consortium (OLC). The OLC is a leading professional organization devoted to advancing quality online learning by providing professional development, instructional resources, and best practice publications and guidance to educators. Membership provides faculty with an opportunity to engage in professional development in the area of online learning, and to gain a presence in an online learning community.

Creating a free membership account is easy, and gives members access to the OLC journal, Online Learning. Benefits also include access to:

  • Discounted pricing on conferences
  • Free webinars
  • Peer networking
  • Workshops
  • Early access to research

The OLC Institute for Professional Development also offers virtual learning opportunities for educators at any stage of their online teaching career. This includes several Certificate Programs, a Mastery Series Program, and The Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning.

Access to the OLC is provided from the University's Online and Special Programs (OSP) office, from within Academic Affairs. OSP provides a variety of services to faculty who seek to develop and teach online, hybrid, session and Weekend U courses. They can also assist those who are interested in offering an online course, an online minor, or an online degree program.
