I am pleased to announce that through the Office of the Provost the University of Houston has secured institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD).
The NCFDD is a nationally recognized organization that provides a virtual professional development and mentoring community that faculty members can access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The NCFDD’s mission centers on three objectives – helping faculty members: (1) to increase their research and writing productivity; (2) to manage their work-life balance; and (3) create broad networks of collegial support on their home campus and across institutions.
The benefits of NCFDD membership will be extended to all UH faculty and facilitated through the Center for Faculty Engagement and Development (FED) in the Office of the Provost. The FED will serve as an on-campus focal point for the NCFDD program and will also provide a venue for non-participating faculty to learn more about the benefits of the program.Faculty members can sign up directly for membership by following the instructions posted here: http://www.uh.edu/provost/faculty/ncfdd/
I hope that you will take advantage of these resources and I look forward to hearing your feedback in the coming months.
