What is Cub Camp?
Cub Camp is an extended orientation program where first-year students travel to an off-site camp just before classes begin to come together as a class, have fun, make friends, and learn more about creating a successful life at UH and in Houston.
What is a Camp Counselor?
The primary role of a camp counselor is to serve as a support system for freshmen and help them transition into college life. Counselors will lead a group of “cubs” called a Discussion Group and maintain connections with them throughout their first year and beyond! They perform informative and purpose skits for the freshmen to help them better understand college life, UH traditions, and campus services. If you are looking for a great way to get involved and serve in a leadership role, apply on February 1!
- Fill out the Counselor application here.
- Attend BOTH a group and individual interview
- Wait for acceptance email from Cub Camp!
All applications are due by 5:00pm on Friday, February 12th.
Group Interviews will be held February 15th – 17th and Individual Interviews will be held 19th – 20th.
You will be notified on Monday, February 22nd of your selection.
Want More Information?
There will be an Information Session that will be held on February 3rd at 6pm in Student Center South - Bayou City Room 219. This is a great way to ask questions about the application and interview process, learn more about the role and get to know some of the members of the Leadership Team and current Co-Chairs.
