We hope you enjoyed your New Student Orientation (NSO). We look forward to welcoming you back to campus when classes resume in August!
While at NSO, you learned about the Provost Summer Read program and received a copy of the book along with instructions on how to sign-up. The program is built around a common book read by all first-year students during the summer. The book is then discussed in faculty-led seminars when students arrive on campus to begin fall term classes.
The Fall 2015 book is The Rise by Sarah Lewis. Sign up today for a seminar by visiting the Provost Summer Read website and selecting a time for your seminar. All seminars are scheduled for an hour between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23. This is a great opportunity to meet other students, reunite with friends from NSO and Cub Camp, and get to know faculty before the semester begins.
Keep an eye out for additional exciting events taking place on campus this fall, including a campus visit and lecture by Sarah Lewis on September 23. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you enjoy reading The Rise as much as I did, and if you have you finished reading, tweet about the book at #UH19PSR and follow Provost Summer Read on Twitter @UHPSR.
