Dear UH Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to announce David Ashley White, Professor of Music Composition and Theory, as the 2015 Esther Farfel Award recipient. The award is given in recognition of excellent teaching, research, scholarship, and service.
The Farfel Award was presented April 30 at the Faculty Excellence Luncheon, recognizing the extraordinary talents and gifts of our faculty. You are welcome to view photographs of all the honorees, and download them to share.
White has been on the faculty of the Moores School of Music since 1977. He served as Director of the Moores School from 1999 to 2014, during a time when the School’s growth and distinction was only outmatched by its international renown. As a composer, White has long been, and continues to be, one of America’s most important, prominent, widely published, and widely performed composers of sacred music.
Please join me in congratulating Professor White for his exceptional service to the University and on this well-deserved distinction.
