Go Texan Day at UH! February 24, 2015

Hello Cougars!

Texas traditions have always been a part of what makes the University of Houston great. One of those traditions, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, has supported the University for many years, providing scholarships to hundreds of UH and University of Houston System students. We enjoy a meaningful partnership with the Houston Rodeo, including participating in the Houston Rodeo Parade featuring the Spirit of Houston Marching Band, University of Houston Night at the Rodeo, and service on Rodeo committees.  I'm proud to note the UH float in the Rodeo Parade last year was the winner for "Most Original".

Another tradition integral to both the institutions of the Rodeo and the University is Go Texan Day. Join me in celebrating our rich Texas heritage by wearing Western attire to campus this Friday, February 27 to celebrate the University’s commitment to the Houston Rodeo and in the spirit of our great state.  And, as it is Friday, be sure to include something red to show off our school colors.

Go Coogs and Go Texan!
