Provost Visiting Scholars Program December 10, 2014

Dear UH Faculty:

I am pleased to announce a new initiative, the Provost Visiting Scholars Program. This program is designed to support faculty recruitment efforts by building or expanding connections between the University of Houston and extraordinary scholars from other institutions.

I invite you to submit proposals. The Provost Visiting Scholars Program seeks to support visits by faculty who are potential candidates for current or future faculty hires, and would contribute to increasing Tier One excellence, student success, and equity and diversity at the University of Houston.

Colleges that wish to invite an individual to campus under the Provost Visiting Scholars Program should submit a proposal with the following:

  • Profile of the proposed visitor including a short CV (1-2 pages)
  • Description of how the proposed visit will contribute to faculty recruitment efforts
  • Summary of how the proposed visit will support creating and sustaining a more diverse and inclusive community at the University of Houston
  • Budget for the visit
  • Endorsement by the department chair and college dean
