UHCOP Welcomes New Advancement Director

Matt Perkins Joins College from Memphis-based Health System to Lead UHCOP Development Initiatives, Alumni and Donor Relations

UH College of Pharmacy Dean F. Lamar Pritchard, Ph.D., recently welcomed the appointment of Matt Perkins, MPA, as the college's new Director of Advancement. 

Matt PerkinsBefore joining UH, Matt served as the major gifts officer for Regional One Health, a hospital system in Memphis, Tenn. In his role at Regional One, Perkins successfully raised more than $3 million for the expansion of the hospital's burn center. He also led numerous fundraising efforts for the neonatal intensive care unit, trauma center, and education for first responders.

Perkins earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree in public administration from Norwich University. His wife, Meredith, is a native Houstonian. They enjoy to travel, and are both devoted Arkansas Razorback fans.

"I believe my previous experience in healthcare philanthropy will allow me to help the College of Pharmacy reach the goals that the leadership has laid out," Perkins said. "I was attracted to the University of Houston and the College of Pharmacy after learning about all of the successes they have achieved in recent years. It is very exciting to be on a team that is so dedicated and focused on the goals they have set out to accomplish."
