Team Spotlight: Administration and Finance

Last month we took a look inside our maintenance and operations team

This month, we'll explore the ins and outs of the administration and financial side of parking and transportation services. Read on to learn a little more about the people who handle the business-side of the department.

In a nutshell, what do you do in your role?  Oversee all parking and transportation programs at the University.

How long have you worked with parking? I’ve been at UH for 2 decades but have been in the parking industry for 33 years.

What's your favorite thing about working for UH?  The ever-changing environment of both our customers and the University.

When you aren’t at work you can most likely be found: Doing anything but answering emails.

In a nutshell, what do you do in your role?  My areas of responsibility include the customer service team --which consists of the information booth on University Drive, the call center employees and our customer service representatives who man the counters in the Stadium and Welcome Center parking garages -- the Cougar Line shuttle service and the Transportation Demand Management program. I also assist with long-term strategy and planning.      

How long have you worked with parking? I've been with parking for 2 and a half of the six years I've been with the University. 

What's your favorite thing about working for UH? ?  I enjoy learning, so working at a university and being a part of and contributing to UH's student success goals is immensely rewarding professionally. Working here also spurred my desire to pursue my master’s degree, and completing that was a significant personal goal. 

When you aren’t at work you can most likely be found: Traveling or enjoying the Houston food scene.

In a nutshell, what do you do in your role?  My duties include maintaining and organizing financial records, processing invoices, reviewing financial budgets, assisting with financial expenditures, reallocations and more.  I also process parking refunds for returned parking decals or duplicate charges that may occur in University parking garages or campus parking meters. 


How long have you worked with parking? I have worked for parking for a little over a year now. 

What's your favorite thing about working for UH?  My favorite thing about working at UH is the welcoming atmosphere, being a part of the parking and transportation team and volunteering for student activities, such as Cougar First Impressions and The Cat's Back. 

When you aren’t at work you can most likely be found: Out and about hanging with friends and family or somewhere dancing to a nice beat!

In a nutshell, what do you do in your role? I coordinate administrative operations for the Parking and Transportation Services and provide executive administrative support directly to the Parking & Transportation director. I serve as a departmental liaison to administrative departments, staff, faculty and students on campus for administrative issues. 


How long have you worked with parking? Two years.

What's your favorite thing about working for UH?  I love working with the diverse campus community including students, faculty, staff and visitors with whom I interact and work daily. 


When you aren’t at work you can most likely be found:  Cooking, reading and spending time with my family.
