Document Request and Pickup

Many requests with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services do not require an appointment with an International Student Counselor. Please see the listing of services available without an appointment below.

NOTE: All requests require a "5-business day" processing time from the day of submission unless otherwise indicated. To help meet your needs in a timely manner, we request you plan in advance and provide as much advance notice as possible.

Letters for various needs, such as:

  • Department of Public Safety (Texas ID or Driver's License)
  • Enrollment verification
  • Enrolling at another school (keeping your SEVIS record at UH):
    • Concurrent enrollment (at the same time as classes at UH)
    • Transient enrollment (temporarily during UH school breaks)
    • Inter-institutional enrollment (specific agreements between UH & other schools)
  • Financial expenses
  • Invitation (for graduation, visit, or for dependent visa)
  • Social Security Card application

International Travel:

  • Travel endorsements for I-20s/DS-2019s
  • Updated I-20/DS-2019 for visa interviews

Employment:

  • Basic information about employment options for internationals
  • OPT Self Report submission
  • Requesting H-IB Cap-Gap I-20s
  • Submitting a Curricular Practical Training request

Miscellaneous:

  • Applications for ISSSO scholarships
  • Exchange Visitor insurance options
  • Notification of changed visa code
  • Pick-up ISSSO forms/handouts
  • Reporting intended departure from the U.S. after completing studies
  • Review of ISSSO Registration holds
