Computer Science Student Wins 2010 Graduate Research Competition in ACM CHI 2010


Computer Science PhD student Yuichi Fujiki (advisor: Prof. Ioannis Pavlidis) from the Computational Physiology Lab won the 2010 Graduate Research Competition in the ACM CHI 2010 Conference. CHI is the premium and highly selective forum in Human-Computer Interaction. The winning paper, “iPhone as a physical activity measurement platform” is part of Yuichi’s PhD work. It describes the technology behind the “Walk n Play” application that the Computational Physiology Lab released in the App Store about a year ago. It is currently used by thousands of people around the world. Congratulations!
